Publications (1951-1966) of the Office of Urban Church Planning include "Lutheran Church in the City" series studies and other independent studies conducted by the Office regarding the status of the Lutheran church in Des Moines, Iowa; Chicago, Illinois; Salt Lake City, Utah; Jamestown, New York; Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri; Brooklyn, New York; Detroit, Michigan; San Francisco, California; Baltimore, Maryland; and Greensboro, North Carolina. Also included are three community studies conducted in the Brooklyn, New York area by the Protestant Council of the City of New York for the Office and an article by Office secretary Walter Kloetzli, Jr. Regarding a Brooklyn, New York study. The Office's three volume mapping project publication, Distribution of Lutheran Churches in the Standard Metropolitan Statistical Areas of the United States, is also contained in the collection.
